The bay floor is covered in seagrass meadows that support a community of green turtles (around 5–8 resident individuals) and one of the Red Sea's few reliable dugong populations. Two long fringing reefs run down either side; in between, the sandy lagoon holds blue-spotted rays, cornetfish, and the occasional guitarfish. The HEPCA-managed bay caps boat numbers and forbids feeding or chasing wildlife.

Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a wide-angle. The shallow turquoise water is photo paradise.
